酒莊座落在一塊小山坡地上,眺望著吉隆河,有著得天獨厚的地理位置。當中午水氣瀰漫時,整座山彷彿被一片的玫瑰花給迷漫籠罩著,因此莊主取名為Montrose「玫瑰山」。酒堡以釀製深沉複雜且酒體厚實的酒著稱。單寧強勁的酒體屬於較陽剛的風格,因此有the Latour of St.-Estephe「聖艾斯台夫的拉圖堡」之稱。

這款酒色澤濃郁而深沉,帶有強烈而復雜的略帶鹹味的香氣,散發出黑醋栗和非常成熟的水果的香氣。帶有華麗的黑莓、覆盆子、雪松和橙子冰糕的香味,極其純淨和精緻。口感中等酒體,單寧柔順,酸度非常精準,層次分明的黑色果香夾雜著新橡木桶的香草味。

2014年: Tasted twice in Bordeaux in the early part of 2017, the 2014 Montrose replicated its showing at the property as part of the vertical in September 2016. It has that exquisite blackberry, cedar and blood orange scented nose that feels so effervescent even at this early stage. The palate is beautifully balanced with crisp, tensile black fruit, filigree tannin, perhaps in recent months developing a little more spiciness on the finish. 2016年: Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Montrose is a little youthfully shy to begin, but with coaxing, it unfurls to reveal the most beguiling scents of wilted roses, oolong tea, crushed rocks, wild sage, star anise and candied violets over a wonderfully pristine, well-defined core of crushed blackcurrants, black raspberries and kirsch plus wafts of pencil lead and wood smoke.
